Close Encounters of the Third Kind

I watched one of my favorite movies, Close Encounters of the Third Kind tonight. The movie came out in 1977, long before I did and despite the film quality back then, it looks amazing on my crappy CRT TV with a standard DVD. As a kid (and as an adult still), the scene where he’s in the road and the mailboxes go crazy scares me to death. If you haven’t seen it or it’s been a while, go pick up the DVD version and enjoy.

I found this terribly long write-up on somebody’s take on the physics of Super Mario Galaxy. I couldn’t read the whole thing but this guy must really like being alone.

I saw a commercial for the new movie Cloverfield and I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I love big stupid monster movies. This could be really good or really bad.

A friend sent me this picture. It really makes me appreciate my job.

I’ve been reading a little bit about the RIAA furthering their attempts at copyright protection. I really can understand where they are coming from but the energy could go in to much more useful areas.
