By lucky chance, my next door neighbor has a fairly nice camera and as interested in astronomy as I am. I asked him about the model of his camera and found an adapter that allows us to connect it to my telescope. So, with all of the expensive pieces owned, I only had to buy a cheap adapter.
We attempted to take some photos – not really knowing what we were doing – and they came out looking pretty good. I labeled them in the captions.
Our biggest hurdle was the breeze. It was a warmer, dry night. I’m sure that these will be nicer in the dead, hot summer nights.
